The Sanlam Handmade Contemporary show, taking place at the rooftop of the Hyde Park Corner this weekend from October 12 to 14, marks its ninth year as a much anticipated annual outdoor fair featuring good food, high-end wines and luxury accessories.
When launched in 2010 by Artlogic, it became the first event of its kind and has featured different themes each year since then.
Fair Curator Cassandra Twala says, “We feature both emerging and established local fashion, lifestyle and homeware brands, top SA chefs, high-end wine labels, microbreweries and specialty foods. Artlogic prides itself on providing a retail and marketing platform that connects entrepreneurs and small- to mediums-sized businesses with a discerning and supportive audience.”
What to look for at this weekend’s event:
* Five designers who include textile designer Sindiso Khumalo and ceramicist Michael Chandler
* Leading contemporary jewellers such as Tinsel Gallery
* Wine expert Nkululeko Mkhwanazi curates the selection of wineries in a designated “Wine Village”.
